We went to Haiti on 2017

Our time in Haiti was wonderful and a very unique experience to see this project from its beginnings.  From observing the bear land, to slowly seeing Father Jean’s dream coming to life in order to help the kids from Leogane have a possible better life through a Catholic education to which they would never have otherwise.

We were able to take over 100 backpacks and some school supplies with us, that were donated by so many generous parishioners, who understand Father Jean’s vison and have chosen to support this project.

The love in the hearts of the children in Leogane is beyond expectation; those kids are so grateful for what they have, they were so excited about the school actually becoming a reality, we had a dinner for them, where we were able to meet many of the kids and the adults helping with the project.

Father Jean is very loved and appreciated all throughout Leogane, it filled our hearts to witness so many people in the town that were so happy to see and greet Father Jean in the streets. The reality of the need all throughout Haiti is very touching; it seemed like everybody needs help in some way and just the way they spoke and greeted Father Jean tells you how much they appreciate and love him in Leogane.

The poverty and the need in Leogane just blew our minds away, as we had visited other third world countries around the world, but have never seen a place where there is so much need as in Leogane. When we experienced this in Leogane, it reminded us of Jesus’ words that “we are the salt of the earth and the light of the world,” and seeing these kids there, convinced us that Leogane is an opportunity for us to bring the Love of God to these kids and do our part to try and make a small difference in their lives, so that they have the opportunity to grow and empower themselves to face confidently face their futures and make a difference in their own land.

We support Hope for Leogane project, with all of our hearts because we  believe in Father Jean’s vision as we were able to witness first hand, the necessity of the children of Leogane, we encourage you to please help with the project as we do. Any amount that you can donate (as a continued gift) goes directly to the cause and will help the make a big difference in the lives of these children of God.

In the name of the children of Leogane and in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, we thank you for your help and support.
